Brodeur can smash his stick all he wants, but the officials got it right last night. Rules state that if a goalie is out of his crease and there is incidental contact between the goalie and a player while a goal is scored. Goal counts.
Brodeur wandered too far out of his net and you could argue that he ran into Jokinen. Jokinen had his back to Brodeur, how was he to know that Brodeur was on a road trip two feet outside of his crease?
Right call was made, and it seemed that the screen and not the contact is why the goal was scored anyways.

One of the benefits of the first round of the playoffs is watching local game coverage of the series. So right now the playoff leader for biggest homer is Jack Edwards of the Bruins after his empty net goal call on Monday. Jack better keep an eye on his rear view mirror because Chico Resch is approaching fast.
